Mexico known for luxurious all-inclusive resorts, turquoise beaches and one of the modern wonders of the world; Chichen Itza is one of the most visited countries having majority of the tourists from US and Canada.
We spent 4 days in Cancun and pretty much covered everything that we had aimed for. Public transport is very good so you can certainly do without car rental.
Chichen Itza
Chichen Itza is a day trip from Cancun and you can do it yourself if you decide to rent a car or you could opt for a tour. We took a tour which was hassle free and pick up and drop off was from our hotel. On our way there was a short stop at the Yucatan cenote where we took a dip. Getting to the cenote was not very easy as you have a few flight of pebbly stairs to trek without any shoes.
Our tour guide explained the fascinating history on Chichen Itza and then we got some time on our own to explore and take pictures. Mandar did a fantastic job of capturing some good pics.
After we got back to our hotel we thought of checking out the night life which wouldn’t have been complete without going to Coco Bongo. We purchased our tickets from downtown but you can also get same price tickets outside the club if you go a little earlier. The atmosphere in there was crazy and happening something we hadn’t experienced before.
All-inclusive Resort – Excellence
Next day we checked in to our first all-inclusive resort “Excellence” in Riviera Maya… We had officially arrived in heaven!
I am sure anyone who has already been or in the processing of zeroing in on an all inclusive in Cancun, Riviera Maya area would second me that this is a very time consuming task. There are so many couples-only, family resorts with fab ratings that it’s hard to pick 1.
With amazing restaurants, pools, activities and a daily show, Excellence was definitely a super choice. We took a couples massage spa which came with all the fancy plugins like hydrotherapy, steam n sauna, chocolate covered strawberries etc etc.. Private access to the beach was an added advantage coz that motivated us to go for morning walk and we caught a very beautiful sunrise as well.
